WHO WE ARE:  Hydrotherapy (Therapy Pool)

THE HYDROTHERAPY TEAM:  The team consists of 2 Occupational/Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) who works with the physiotherapist to provide a water program geared to the needs of the client. 

PATIENTS SERVED:  We serve patients under Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) who are being seen by one of our physiotherapists.  This includes patients with a spinal cord injury, amputee, or acquired brain injury, from the Pain Program, and  the Outpatient Clinics.

SERVICES PROVIDED: The pool is a warm water hydrotherapy pool which is 94-96 degrees Fahrenheit with a depth range from 0.9 metres to 1.4 metres deep.  The pool is accessible by ramp, stairs and also a hydraulic lift to help patients in and out of the pool.

We provide warm water exercises geared to the individual as well as teaching swimming and water safety to spinal cord injury and stroke patients.

YOUR FIRST VISIT:  On your first visit to the pool you should bring a towel, swimsuit and water shoes.  Please shower at home before arriving for your appointment.  Your appointment is one hour in length which includes changing time.  Your time in the water is between 30 to 45 minutes in length.
